What Samples to Prepare Before Requesting an Ultrasonic Sewing Quote

A quotation is more useful when the supplier understands the fabric, seam, and output target. A short but complete application brief reduces assumptions and helps determine whether a machine demonstration, custom tooling, or further material testing is needed.

Prepare representative materials

Send samples that match the production fabric as closely as possible, including the actual finish, coating, lamination, stretch, and number of layers. If the garment uses several material combinations, label each one separately. Include both the main fabric and any reinforcement or lining involved at the seam.

Describe the target seam

  • A drawing or photo showing the seam position and direction
  • Required seam width, shape, and distance from the edge
  • Layer count and overlap dimensions
  • Expected strength, flexibility, appearance, and edge quality
  • Relevant washing, stretching, abrasion, or wear requirements

Share production conditions

Estimate pieces per shift or the desired line speed. Explain whether the process will run continuously or on different garment styles with frequent changeovers. Note the available floor space, operator experience, upstream and downstream operations, and any automation goals.

Agree on sample acceptance criteria

Before a test begins, define how the sample will be judged. Visual inspection alone may not be enough: you may need peel or tensile testing, repeated stretch, wash cycles, or other tests appropriate to the garment. Ask for several samples to review consistency and record the settings used.

Request a project-specific quotation from Sewsonic

Send the material details, seam requirements, output target, and installation country through the Sewsonic website inquiry channel. The more accurately you describe the application, the easier it is to discuss a suitable configuration, required tooling, trial plan, and commercial quotation.
